| Competition Rules
1. Entries must be submitted on a cassette tape, CD or minidisk, with one typewritten copy of the
lyrics.
2. The Lyric and Music must be the work of the composer (s).
3. A commercial recording or publication of the entry must NOT be released for sale before it is entered in the
contest.
4. Recordings will only be returned only if accompanied with an appropriate stamped addressed envelope. Otherwise they will be destroyed under
supervision.
5. The entry fee is €30.00 per song.
6. Any entry should not exceed four minutes.
7. The official entry form with entry fee MUST accompany all
entries.
8. The provisional adjudication will be on the recordings submitted, from which, 10 finalists will be
chosen.
9. All finalists must be available for rehearsal from 12.00 noon on the day of the
final.
10. The closing date for entries is Monday 1st. September 2008
11. Each composer will be responsible for providing the singer of his /her entry in the final at his/her own
expense.
12. Finalists will be notified on or before the 1st October 2008.
13. The Grand Final may be recorded for promotional purposes. Copyright stays with the auther at all times.
14. Members of the families of the organisers are NOT allowed to enter the
contest.
15. Entry of the contest implies acceptance or the rules.
16. The decision of the organisers will be final in all matters.
17. Clonmel Song Contest may use entries for promotional purposes. All copyright remain with the auther.
18. On reaching the final ten the entrant must be prepared and able to travel to Clonmel for the Grand Final. This will be at their own expense.
19. The winning entrant is requested to be available to make an appearance at SongFest.ie on the following day to perform their winning song at the young songwriter's workshop.
