Frequently Asked Questions

 
Q. Can I enter more than one song?
A. Yes. A separate entry form and entry fee must accompany each entry.


Q. Is the Grand Final always held on a Friday.
A. The Grand Final is always Held on the first Friday in November.


Q. Who will judge the competition?
A. The entries will be judged by an independently appointed committee down to the final ten. Three high calibre judges will then judge the Grand Final. For fairness these judges will not be introduced until the night of the Grand Final.


Q. Will the winner be announced on the night of the Grand Final.
A. Yes. The winner and two runners up will be announced on the night of the Grand Final and receive their respective prize i.e. €2500, €1000, & €500. The winners name will also go on the Tipperary Crystal Perpetual Trophy.


Q. Will the winner take away the trophy?
A. No. The Tipperary Crystal by its nature is expensive and fragile so therefore the organisers have decided to bare the full responsibility for its safety and keep it in Clonmel. The winner and two runners up will receive an engraved Tipperary Crystal Trophy to take away as well as their prize money.


Q. Is the contest confined to songwriters living in Ireland?
A. No. The contest is open to all songwriters internationally provided they abide by the competition rules and are able to attend the Grand Final if successful.
